Hey, I’m Martina — a recovering people-pleaser, overthinker-in-remission, and full-time human-in-progress.
After an 18-year relationship plot twist, I took a soul-deep trip into my emotional basement. I found myself staring at the pieces of my life and wondering, “Now what?” So I started writing—messy, honest, unfiltered words—because sometimes healing looks more like journaling at 2 a.m. than it does meditating on a beach (although I highly recommend both).
This space was born from the in-between. It represents the not-quite-there-yet parts of healing. These parts are tender, weird, and beautiful. They are often filled with self-doubt and unexpected growth spurts.
But here’s what keeps me grounded:
- Nature — the ultimate therapist.
- Animals — my heart speaks fluent dog and rescue cat.
- Photography — because sometimes a lens captures what words can’t.
- Travel — Not just for the places I go, but for the pieces of me I find and the ones I let go.
I believe self-love doesn’t always look like bubble baths and affirmations (though, yes please to both). Sometimes it’s saying “no” without guilt. Sometimes it’s crying in your car. Sometimes it’s laughing at the chaos and remembering you’re still here. Still growing. Still worthy.
Self-love with a side of WTF isn’t just a blog title—it’s my current life season (and maybe yours too).
If you’re fumbling through growth, welcome. Unlearn what no longer fits. Remember who you are beneath the noise. You’ve found your safe (and slightly sassy) corner of the internet.
Let’s figure it out together.
